We did our first dive of the season in Saros, known as one of turkey's great diving spots. Beyond being the first dive of the season, it was also the first for me to be in Thrace and dive in Saros. Diving in Saros will be a different experience for those who are accustomed to diving in Turkey, mostly in the southern Aegean and Mediterranean. In fact, saros was always very high-flowing, hot, difficult and ideal for technical dives, but we were neither exposed to a very high current nor overly cold or forced. Perhaps the spots in the Saros to the waste dardanelles region fall into this category (it shouldn't be easy to dive into the shipwrecks in the strait stream). Another issue growing in our eyes was that we thought it was a long way from Ankara to Saros, but it took us about 9 hours to get to Erikli from istanbul. In fact, when we got there around 6:00 a.m., there was also time to sleep for 2-3 hours at the hotel before diving. Our hotel (worker hotel:http://www.iscimenhotel.net/saros.asp) was probably the most beautiful and single hotel in Erikli. Although it was an old hotel, it was a place with immaculate, delicious food and beautiful chapters in the evening:) The front of the hotel is the beach and the sea, and the little plum town behind it. We did our dives by opening our dives from ibrice port by boat of kadikoy underwater. Since the ovulation period of the fish, the water was quite blurry and plankton, visibility was low enough to fall to 1-2 m. The water was cold enough to drop to 15 degrees below 20-25 m, but it was around 19 degrees in shallower waters. Instead of the clear and blue underwater we used to be used to in the south, it was a greener and more fuzzy underwater, but the greenness of the water would indicate that there was more life in the water (!) (I'm not sure about that) Some diving points were like abandoned towns, it was like seeing a single fish, but when we looked more carefully, we realized that at these diving points, shellfish (lobsters, shrimps, crabs, etc.), hiding in rocks, rather than fish. Octopuses, lipsoz and retainers, disciples, expert language fish in sand in sand, and we had the opportunity to see the side fish lying in the sand as I call it, which we do not know what its name is. The abundance of phosphorus green, yellow, black, purple, whiprating anemon varieties was also remarkable, and I think we can actually connect it to the current water.
Unfortunately, even though I was eagerly going on this dive to try my new digital machine and hausing for the first time, I couldn't take very successful photos because I forgot the flash difuter at home. Of course, it's necessary to accept the negative effect of blurred water on photos.
For information about all diving points in Turkey, scuba turkey's web page is very successful, you can see the saros region at the link below;http://www.scubaturkiye.com/US/LOCATIONS/Default.asp?LocId=2
